Haringey Federation of Residents Associations
Community action throughout Haringey
Would you like to meet people, share ideas, information and experiences – and to spread mutual aid, solidarity and community
spirit in your neighbourhood?
Do you want to see a safer and better environment, better conditions, more facilities and social justice for you and all your neighbours?
Do you believe people should speak up for themselves about what they need and want?
If so, why not set up a residents’ group in your street, block of flats or local area – or join one that’s already active?
A borough-wide movement
The Haringey Federation of Residents Associations is the umbrella organisation for the local residents and tenants associations in all corners of the borough. We meet bi-monthly to discuss and pursue issues of common concern and to support each other. Those setting up new groups are welcome to attend.
Since 2001 the Federation has helped develop a lively and effective independent residents movement. We have supported local residents associations, spread important information widely, held annual conferences on key issues, lobbied successfully for improvements to borough-wide policies and practices, and worked in partnership with other key organisations including the Council.
We have supported the development of strong grass-roots networks and campaigns such as: the Haringey Friends of Parks Forum, Haringey Alliance for Public Services, the Sustainable Haringey network, Defend Haringey's Health Services coalition, Haringey Defend Council Housing, and the Haringey Community Planning Network.
We also link into London and national networks to be part of a countrywide movement for stronger and more empowered communities and a better society. Why not get involved?
